Check out this website on personalities. http://www.enneagraminstitute.com/
Getting familiar with the different types will give you a good idea of someone's personality. Also, most people wear a mask in public, so knowing them as an individual would mean spending time with them and asking questions.

A nice question!
For me, as a teenager.. you can identify other's personality by know him/her better. "We shouln't judge the book by its cover". Spend time with him/her, ask him/her some questions, so that you can know him better. But we are living in a judgemental world.. First Impression last but you should think of the good side of that particular person. But always consider the rule "RESPECT INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES"

You have to spend a lot of time with a person so you can say you know his/hers personality. Also I believe that we can't say that we really know a person even if we know that person for a long time, even for years. I believe that when we live with a person and see how he/she reacts everyday, how he/she acts in different circumstances ...then we can have a complete image of his/hers personality. Think about the members of our family..why do we say that we know who they are? It happened to me to believe that a friend of mine has a specific personality...but when we rent an appartment and we lived together for some months...I figured out that there were so many parts of my friend's personality that I didn't know...it was a surprice for me!
