PSYCHO is a classic but if you're looking for sheer shock value then my pick would be THE EXORCIST. Both are great movies.

I do not think that is is that scary anymore. Back when it first came out nobody wanted to take showers afterward. I do find other movies scarier such as:

Jaws- I hate to go swimming now
Halloween- The classic slasher
The Exorcist- Yes, it's very scary

So anyway, I think other movies are scarier, but when it first came out it was the scariest movie made.

Hope I helped

I would rank the top 3 scariest in this order:
1 Dracula (with Bela Lugosi)
2 Psycho
3 The Exorcist

Actually no, I think The Exorcist had to be the scariest movie of all time, as it has actually STOOD the test of time (it's from the 70's). I mean who wouldn't get freaked out over anyone becoming posessed by the devil!? Scary stuff!

It's "Psycho" by Alfred Hitchcock...
There are more movies scarier than this one.
But "Psycho" is still the best.
"Saw" is also very scary · and it is
a good scary movie. But there is many crap out this days
— for instance "Hostel" or some french horror-movies.

No. It was at the time though and helped set the standard. There have been many more scary movies since.

it was horrifying for it's day but not for all time. not sure what i would classify the scariest movie of all time to be. that's a toss up.

I think it was for it's time but not for all time. Psycho is a psychological masterpiece. I try not to compare it to today's films.
