Engine: More oil usage when pulling loads. Transmission automatic transmissions heat up more towing but do not use oil unless there is leaks. Engine oil temp and transmission oil temp should be checked. Temps above 300 degrees should be delt with. By adding oil coolers you can save expensve repairs.

A transmission doesn't use fluid,It burns it.WHen you haul heavy loads the tranny gets hotter, and burns the fluid.Install a tranny cooler, although you have a factory instaled cooler in front of your radiator, you may need a secondary, larger one.You can also look into installing another fan,or running the one you have longer.

It will not cause you to use any more trans fluid but if the motor already uses oil then it may use more under a heavy load. This will not be an extremely large difference and may not even be noticable unless the motor smokes heavily under acceleration.

If you're truck or car is burning more oil or transmission fluid.. Then Yes it is showing signs that there is a problem...If you're burning oil and it's not leaking then this is a sign you're motor needs rebuilt.. if you're transmission fluid and it's not a leak then this is a sign that you need to put a transmission cooler on it ..

No, however you should increase the interval between fluid changes because you are not operating under normal conditions, see you owners manual or contact your dealer of your vehicle.
