I agree it is bad for your health. As long as you understand that.
When you get cancer, don't sue the tobacco companies. They've told you very clearly that it is bad stuff. The doctors and agencies have told you, very clearly, that it is bad stuff and will kill you. It is your fault that you will eventually die from lung, heart, throat, etc. cancer.
Also, don't force your death on me. Smoke in your car...OK. Smoke in your home...OK. Thats about it. I don't want that garbage in my lungs at the restuarant, bar, office, playgrounds, parks, public spaces, etc. It smells bad and is proven to be just as bad for me. Secondhand smoke kills too.
Other than that...smoke away. Just do it on your time in your own private places. No need to ban it, just smoke as far away from me as possible.

I one hundred% understand the place you're coming from in this element, yet....i can not die from yet another guy or woman eating McD's for their nutrients, and that i might fall unwell from people who cough and sneeze in public, however the likelyhood of me getting maximum cancers from it rather is low. Swearing in public is barely going to make our young ones dumber, no longer lifeless. i'm a mom. i can not administration different individuals eating and using. i can not administration human beings smoking the two, yet while it ability that it will enhance the opportunities of me residing to an older age and looking after my youngsters because of fact I wasn't uncovered to 2d hand smoke, then enable there be a ban. human beings can smoke of their very own residences and autos, and different public unique areas. i might hate to die because of fact some jack@ss desperate to smoke exterior the development the place I worked and that i had to stroll via it on a daily basis to get interior. How is that honest? the place I stay, there's a ban on smoking interior public employer and interior of 20 feet of a development. maximum bars and eating places have an exterior "porch" that every physique is authorized to smoke on, with filters and followers, etc. it works large. i think of an outright ban isn't ok, yet a compromise is interior the proper direction so people who pick to no longer smoke do no longer ought to breath it in anyhow.

Way too many states depend on the taxes generated to seriously consider banning it. Same thing with alcohol.
By the way, the 'second hand smoke' thing is BS. No difference between cigarette smoke and charcoal barbecue smoke, yet no one (with the possible exception of California) has suggested banning charcoal.

We all know that smoking is bad for you! We hear it all the time and its printed on every pack of cigarettes.
I am a smoker and it really pisses me off that so many other causes have rights and we don't, I understand second hand smoke and I never light up in a crowd or near other people who don't smoke. No one like to have their rights taken away.

I think your question is: Since everyone knows smoking is bad for your health, why is it so difficult to get it banned.
My answer is: Tobacco and cigarette companies are very rich and powerful. They support a lot of politicians, therefore, the politicians don't want to reduce their own sources of income.

Two reasons:
You let society take care of your medical expenses while croaking, and podssibly for your family afterwards.
You also poisson innocent bystanders with second hand smoke.
So, ban away!

Because other people are tired of breathing our second hand smoke. I am a smoker and I understand how they feel. I don't smoke where I know it bothers other people.
