He's a good comedian, but I wouldn't call him genius. The word genius is so over used that it devalues true genius.

By the way, getting people to discuss something by saying "discuss" is rather rude. It sounds like an exam paper. Something like "what do you think?" would be more appropriate.

Very funny comic, brilliant comedy actor but genius no. The problem is he is becoming a bit "samey" . He needs new material or else he will soon become a "has been" Maybe he should do a "Billy Connolly " and branch out into other things.

I think that he's a very clever man, Phoenix Nights was well written and extremely funny as were his stand up shows. I was quite disappointed though when he started releasing singles and appearing on Doctor Who and stuff as his motivation then seemed about money and stardom not doing what he was good at and doing stuff purely for cash. It's like he's done a Ben Elton, he'll be writing musicals next.

I think he was a funny bloke but he really needs to get some new material cos I am sick of seeing his old stuff repeated on e4 all the time.
However I do think he is a very observant bloke who can make every little thing seem funny for instance
GARLIC BREAD lol
take care :)

No. Some of the stuff he uses on Phoenix Nights I saw again on his 30th birthday show, such as Bullseye, garlic bread and Armarillo. But if it makes the country happy...

Pretty funny, but as happens with a comedian every now and then (see also Baddiel and Newman, Lee Evans) lifted waaaaay beyond what his talent merits.

Of course, as far as I can remember no comic has managed to have a huge sell out live tour, a top ten hit, a ratings monster of a sitcom simultaneously before. Well done. More please.
