I'm not a White Sox fan, so I can't vouch for whether there is a rooting interest for the Tigers or Red Sox to win. With that aside, Detroit should (at the very least) be a tiny bit worried. This is the second time this year that Chicago has swept them. 5 and 1/2 games is still a comfortable lead. But the Tigers can ill afford to go into a slump now. The last month and 1/2 of the season is going to be one of the best we've seen in years I believe. With four qualities teams (Yankees, Tigers, Red Sox, White Sox) one is going to be left at home watching the playoffs.
Question for you Georgie: If Detroit would somehow fail to make the playoffs, would you still consider it to be a successful year? Or would it be a major disappointment?

BTW, Georgie, Good Guys wear Black.
The sweep happened because the White Sox starters showed up, they got timely hitting, and took advantage of Tiger miscues.
Right now, Boston is in Chicago's rear view mirror, so there is no need for the Tigers to knock Boston any further down, as Chicago should take care of things at home and take at least 3 of 4 against KC. Then they have to get at least 3 wins out of the next 7 on the road (3 at Minnesota, 4 in Detroit) to keep the momentum going.
While you know how much I despise the Red Sux, I don't think Detroit's going in there and taking 3. Tigers will be lucky to escape with 1 W. You'll have to put some hurting on the Rangers when they come to Detroit on Thursday.

nope. As a White Sox fan, I'm going for Boston to win, though I dont think they will sweep. The White Sox are playing Kansas City so they are going to sweep there, especially with how they are currently playing. If Boston sweeps Detriot and the White Sox sweep Kansas City the White Sox move to only 2.5 behind the Tigers and the Red Soxs stay 2 behind in the Wild Card. If they don't sweep well the standings depend on who wins.
So No the Detriot Tigers WILL NOT sweep the Boston Red Sox.

The White Sox want the Red Sox to sweep the Tigers so the White Sox can gain ground on the Tigers lead. The White Sox want the division title, not the wildcard.
Then again, with the White Sox being 9-3 against the Tigers this season, they might want to ensure the Tigers get into the playoffs for an easy road to the world series.

I am not a WHITE Sox fan but am a RED Sox fan and hope the Tigers do NOT sweep the home team this week. The Tigers have lost 5 straight, and I'd like to see them win their division, but I have to root for the Red Sox this week and hope the White Sox lose as well.

Although I'm not surprised they were swept by White Sox, I will be rooting for them against Boston
I am puzzled by the moniker you use to describe the Tigers. Could be an inside joke with someone else, I suppose. But, Kenny Rogers isn't what I'd call a "good guy."

As a Yankee fan of course!! The Bombers don't seem to be doing much to help their cause lately so they need the Tigers to keep Boston at bay.
