At least in the country where I live, homosexuality is never a reason to laugh someone off. It's widely accepted and it's been so for many generations as I grew up understanding homosexuality as just another sexual orientation. But I understand that in some cultures it's still an issue.

I don't think it will ever be completely accepted by everyone, just as there is still racism.

As for your comment about it being - what I assume you meant - a great source for amusement, I don't know that many people that find it amusing aside from those that still get their jollies from bathroom jokes.

I think it depends on what scale you like to look at it. In the western world it will become better than it is now. most people seem to accept that it's a biological thing and that gay people just can't help it, just like a hetero can't help himself liking another hetero from the different kind.
But there are parts in the world, very strict religious countries where populism and radicalizing is very common (christian and muslim) where they are even getting more and more opposed to it. Gays get beaten up, killed or even sentenced to death. This is just horrible, but can you expect progress in these countries? I think not anywhere in the near future.

I continually ask your self why human beings make the form of large deal about it. i love individuals of the same sex. that's it, it really is the in uncomplicated words large difference between gays and straights. We nevertheless have targets and emotions, yet obviously some human beings manage us like we are a diverse species. it is lack of understanding, that's all it truly is. yet finally, human beings will settle for it. it would want to take a lengthy time period yet finally being gay heavily isn't considered as something wierd or unusual. merely seem on the shape in the perfect 50 or so years... back then it grow to be unlawful and also you may want to get imprisoned for it. we've gay marriage, anti-discrimination regulations and so on... So issues will proceed to get more effective efficient.

Lots of things will always be amusing. There was a time we could all laugh about each other without it being 'racist' or 'homophobic' etc...

It will always be in the minority, so I suppose it will never be totally accepted by everyone.

I think it's slowly becoming more accepted in today's society. Tons of high school kids seem to be gay nowadays... kinda weird. Hopefully, people will begin to understand what it is and realize it's not some mental disorder or sickening illness.

Alexander's generals hated his catamite. When we can figure out which gene is the defective "gay" gene the homosexuality will disappear.
