The book was written by him when he was Cardinal Albino Luciani, and is a set of letters written to famous (dead) persons. I believe the letters have a lot of lessons for all of us, and make very interesting reading.
Can I download the book from the net?

The English translation (To The Illustrious Ones) was first published in 1978 when Cardinal Luciani (as he was then known) was elected Pope. It was reissued again in 2001.

If your local library doesn't have a copy, I am sure that one of your larger book stores could order it for you. Otherwise, perhaps you could approach one of the larger Roman Catholic churches in your area and ask one of the priests for help in obtaining a copy. I'm afraid I have had no luck in finding you a download from the net.

I have never heard of this book, but find the concept interesting. I can't wait to read what he wrote to Pinnochio!

Good luck in tracing it.

Addition:
I have included a link to the Vatican Library. I couldn't get any joy at the moment because they are away until 21st August. I suggest you e-mail Father William Sheehan, C.S.B., who is Director of the Printed Books Department after that date. (Sheehan@vatlib.it). If they don't provide a download service, it is likely that he has a contact in India who could help you with your enquiry.
