By phone or personal contact. Email is OK for quick questions or to send something you found interesting on the net. For myself the inflections in someone's voice and also the visual stimulation of face to face could never be replaced.

With all my heart , I try to not get sucked into open, ambiguous questions that have sexual overtones.BUT ..,OH DEAR LORD !!! YOUR avatar, if I am to presume it to be you, begets a response.
NOW.., depends on if friend is male or female!
ALL get telephone calls. It is just the manor ,intentions and ulterior motives for calling each.. :)

I call them/ myspace message/ or even instant message. but ,ostly if they are true friends i call them.
