There are many ways to figure out your sound card's name. I will tell you how to do it two ways.

First, click start then run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit Enter. After DxDiag loads click the sound tab. Under Device it will list the name. Mine says "Soundblaster 16 Direct Sound Driver [260]"

If it can't find "dxdiag" then you need to look at the Windows "Device Manager". To get there, first right-click on My Computer and go to "properties".

If you see a Device Manager tab you are in luck. Click on it, make sure "view devices by type" is selected. Then, click the plus sign by "Sound, video and game controllers". Your soundcard will be listed there.

If you don't see a Device Manager tab you need to click on the Hardware tab. Then click Device Manager and click the plus sign by "Sound, video and game controllers". Your soundcard will be listed there.

Maybe you can go to the system information and choose Hardware followed by Components and Audio. Here you can check the model of your sound card and many other information.

Identify where your speaker's jack goes to connect the CPU. Take the cover of the casing and see inside the CPU. Read carefully all the writtings on the card which your speaker's jack connected. There you can understand it.
