You could create simple pictures of 10 animals on flash cards. Show the kids how ten of something adds up to 10. Have some fun with lions, dogs, elephants, cats...
then have them count in tens up to 100. When you spread all of the cards out they'll see 100 is many items, but when taken 10 at a time can be simplified and fun.
Then use distance. Have a piece of string 10 inches long. Show the kids how to measure ten inches. Then have them count by tens to 100 putting the strings on the floor end-to-end. Then take a tape measure and show 100 inches.
If you have ten children, have each child count from one to ten by showing their fingers one at a time. Then designate each child as one decade and have each child recite their decade in the proper order ten to one hundred. Then have the group recite in unison.
Have each child drawn 10 figures on a piece of paper. Then have them count 1 to ten. Once all have counted, have each child hold up their picture and count 10 to 100 as they go.
Have each child count one to 10. Then have each child count to 100 by tens
