Quite easy - we can go on theirs too. Boring tho.
Too many people asking questions, the front page changes over too quickly.

UK & Ireland is simply the designation for where you are logging into Yahoo answers from. Answers is a new feature on Yahoo, mostly worldwide.

Yes, I quite agree. If I WANTED to hear from a load of Yanks I could go elsewhere. I DON'T want them foisted on me here though - as you say - this is the UK & Ireland site, NOT the English speaking one - and because they're all farting about with it may account for why it's so slow!

The reason is because all the Yahoo! Answers sites are tied in to one another.
For example I am using Yahoo! Answers Canada right now.

We must be more interesting or witty or something. Good for us - looks like we got out just in time back in the late 1700's in the great British war for ditching the colonies

While you can view questions that are only posted from UK users, everyone can see the questions when they choose "All English Questions". Thankfully you can't restrict who answers your questions. It is the same for them, and every other country (English speaking).
I for one like it to be international, and don't even particularly like being able to restrict the questions I see.

It is very good that they do .
"Answers" should be international .
Perhaps , "Yahoo" should see the wisdom to create a new category , called something like , " Local Issues " that would relate to local matters.

Nope. I'm pretty sure it's just called Yahoo! Answers.

My address is ***@yahoo.com but I live, and signed up, in England. It all depends on which Yahoo site you had entered before when you signed up. If I could read Chinese I could be on Yahoo.com.cn. but I can't read the instructions.
