Blood type of mother and father may be a factor for conditions that may come up with their children.

Is there a site that discusses this issue?

Hoping for informative answers. Thanks.

Its actually just trying to know this aspect as early as possible.. true feelings will still be the basis, not the blood type.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking.

Are you asking about health problems that might arise if the parents are of different blood types? If so, the only problem that I'm aware of is the "rh factor" for blood.

The child might have health problems if the mother has a negative rh factor (such as A- or B-) and the father has a positive rh factor (such as A+ or B+). If this happens, the mother would need to be given a shot after each pregnancy is ended to ensure that she doesn't build up antibodies to the positive rh factor from the father. This would need to be done after the birth of a child, and after an abortion or miscarriage also.

If the mother has a negative blood type and the father does also, she wouldn't need the shot. If the father is unsure, it is always best to give a mother with a negative rh factor the shot just to safeguard against any possible complications.

I'm A- and my husband is B-. Since we both have negative blood types, I didn't need the injections for either of my pregnancies.
