To be serious, the biggest time waster throughout the known world is 'learning' to trash talk. If you waste time doing that, then you really have life, period!
I would seriously rather learn different things, languages and other cultures instead of doing stupid things such as that.
In the other hand, TV is not a big waste of time. Okay, 95% of TV is trash, but I watch programs where I can be more educated about other things like, animals, space, current events and natural tragedies. PBS is a great way I learn about many different things in the world and the universe, that's why I watch Nova, many things to learn from that show. Then there's Animal Planet. There are others, but I'll relieve you from reading any farther.

Yes, I agree with you. But then I don't watch TV, I haven't had TV hooked up since I was a kid at home.
...and of course, all this time that I was so busy patting my smug self on the back, I owned a PC...and an X-Box, a PS2, every Nintendo ever made, etc. etc.
I find I can get "lost" in my PC or a video/PC game just as easily as one can watching TV. Age of Empires 3 is responsible for wasting about 90% of my time in the last 2 months alone...:(

Hello. - In my opinion, playing a game on the P.C. or Playstation on the T.V..
One looks up at the clock, five hours has passed...it doesn't even feel like it. :|
