Right click on the search bar and click "clear history".

beside every icon is a little black arrow. this is access to a drop down menu click on it and check it out. you can personalize your toolbar. the one you want is at the left of the search box.

i kno how to do it in firefox its very easy ,if u have internet explorer then i dont kno in firefox go to tools and click on clear private data .
if uhav yahoo toolbar then click on the dropdown arrow beside the pencil and click on clear recent searches .
firefox is much better than internet explorer download firefox for free at http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/

type in the first letter of the word u want to delete. if you have cookies the word should come up in a box below it. hit the arrow down key and press delete.
