No - of course not. It WAS the first cable news network that ran news only 24/7. No one thought it would work - even Ted Turner. But he stuck with it - and then we had the 1st Gulf War - CNN stayed and reported longer than any network (the other guys ran away) (until Saddam eventually kicked them out). They're still here, along with many others.
It used to be called the little channel that couldn't - that changed to the little channel that COULD.

Of course that is not right. CNN started in the late 70s (I think). "Media" is any form of information transmission.
