This is hard, if you lose the weight naturally but do it very fast you'll need surgery to remove extra skin (if that's what you wanted, most do) you're going to need that surgery if you do it with weight loss surgery as well ... because you'll be losing that weight rather fast. If you have any other conditions that are either stopping you from exercise or put you at higher risk of mortality I would suggest you get the surgery because it would look as if you had no other options. On the other hand if you're relatively healthy (key word being relatively) you should try to lose the weight with good diet and exercise at first (start out walking 10 - 20 mins a day and work your way up to maybe jogging and long bike rides). Either way the weight has to come off because sooner or later being 100lbs over weight is going to kill you.

Try a excercise and diet option first. Reducing weight naturally and slowly is the best way. Surgery may be successful but harmful side-effects have been seen in many cases.

Eat healthy and put on those walking shoes. See miraculous results in a few months. Forget the surgery.

I am 120 pounds overweight. 2 years ago I weighed 130 pounds, the psychiatrist put me on Seroquel for some mental disorders. I was considered pretty with blond hair and blue eyes.I ballooned up to 250 pounds.People say you deserve to not lose the weight.I have tried dieting and going to the YMCA.The weight will not budge,b/c some of theses medications actually stop the metabolism process.I have considered Lap Band, but it would not work effectively b/c the medication still would halt my metabolism.I have asked my psychiatrist to take me off the medications, but he said since it worked he would not take me off of it.I can not stop taking the medication on my own b/c of the serious adverse reaction it would cause.

People make fun of people who are over weight and do not even for one moment think it can be caused from something other then over eating.I had a doctor at an oncology clinic even asked if I ate alot.I usually eat like a bird and others around me try to get me to eat. So not ALL of us OVER EAT.

No way!My older sister did and now she needs to go to the doctor regularly for iron injections because she can't absorb it through conventional means after the surgery.I'm not over weight but I've lifted weights since 14.I'm pretty sure I would have taken the diet and exercise route first. It takes longer and you have to educate yourself on the subject but for the same reasons I've never done anabolic steroids I think that I would have just put the work in.Health and being able to say proudly that you did it without short cuts.

I am more than 100 lbs overweight and I've considered and discarded WLS. I'm doing it the old fashioned way--hard work--diet and exercise.

I'd think of becoming a speed freak, this realy fat chic that lived down the road & moved over a year ago, was 150 pounds over weight & she lives in Kingston now with a bunch of speed heads & she's as skinny as a piece of wire now, her face is ful of pot marks with big bags under her eyes, but she's skinny now!
