i have two hifonics amps in my car. for some reason my fuse that runs to the sub amp keeps blowing. its so bad that i have to keep extra fuses in the glove box just in case. when i let the seat down that the fuse box is mounted to things seem to be ok. is it just too hot back there? any ideas would be great. the sub amp is a hifonics 2x1000. and is running to two alpine type r 12's

Fuses blow for two main reasons; the appliance is drawing way too much current, or you may not have the proper amperage fuse installed (check owners manual).

Ok, first off why dont you tell us what size fuses you are using as well as the size of your wiring. With that set up you should be running at least 2gauge wire from the battery with a 200a fuse. Then if you have distribution block you would run at least 4guage to each amp and thats it. The 200a fuse should be within 18inches of the battery to protect the cable thats running through your car and the amps have their own fuse so no further fuses are needed.

does your amp have a cooling fan in it and is it a digital amp? i would check the wiring, especially the power cable, one loose strand of it touching the body of the car could blow the fuse, or even the speaker wires touching each other could blow it. I've had amp's overheat on me before also but never blew a fuse for it. So I would double check all the connections, maybe when you put the seat up its exposing wire.

One of two problems. You either have a short somewhere beyond the amp or your amp is drawing too much current/overloaded. Your ohm load may be too low. This will overload the system.
