My ex gf's birthday is today. I want to send her a nice flowering plant. Nothing denoting any romantic inclinations. She has a drug addiction that caused our separation. We broke up with one another while still in love with one another, but I refuse to be with someone that is an addict and wont quit. I support her and remain a friend with her through her tough times. Would sending her a flowering plant, not roses, be misconceived as a " I want you back thing". or just a happy birthday and hope you are enjoy your day thing?

That would definitely be a nice gesture but it will cause unwanted misconceived messages. Unless you make it plainly clear that it was just a friendly gesture. Sending flowers other than roses should do the trick with a card. Be sure that it will be of a friend and not of someone that wants to get back with her. As she will jump at the opportunity. Let me know how it goes, Best of luck amigo

Sending flower to a woman (ex) for her birthday is OK just as long as you make it clear that's all it is.Send a card with it that says just how you feel,if they call or write say it again.

I think it would be sweet to send her something and let her know you haven't given up on her and are still there for her, even though you can't be with her. It's a nice gesture.

Lovely thought......the note that goes with the flowers can show her you care but are not making any kind of move.
A few thought out words ....

That is just fine. Do make a note for her to understand how are things really between the two of you, to avoid misunderstanding.

a plant is ok because it doesn't have a romantic connotation. at least i wouldn't see it that way. go ahead and try, if she reads more into it, just explain why you gave it to her.

I thnk that would be a great idea. Maybe it will get you talking again. Maybe if she has feelings for you, you may be able to get her into rehab.
