You didn't ask a question, but if you had my amswer would have been:
I agree that some varieties of British English are the most elegant-sounding accents. That doesn't make it better. And it makes little sense to say it is "older"--the first Americans were British, and had basically the same language history as the Brits who stayed in the UK.

British English reflects the British way of life (you fill in the blank) while American English reflects our way of life: rugged, independent, versatile, self-reliant, confident, and free from monarchy.
