You have not researched this very deeply, and religion is not the cause of wars but pure greed with religion being used as a scapegoat both to inflame and polerize people. The concept of God is an individual matter and while there is no definite proof of God, people cling to ideas that their existence must have originated with a supremity or 'God' and continue to believe in their ideas to come to grips with death. In most people the idea the death is just a termination of life seems illogical. To support their contention that they were created by a deity, they further extrapolate that after life, there must be a continuation of the soul or their essence. But whether or not there is a god,....you have never seen an atom....I can prove that atoms and molecules exist....but you have never seen them! Science can be manipulated by the user, and some scientists endorse evolution, others and the church don't.. But to me it is irrelevant as there had to be a beginning....With all the solar systems, planets, special situations had to exist for life to begin...were they created by god? I was born Christian but am now Buddhist, and our philosophy is different, but we do believe that there is a superior force. It is best to allow people their own beliefs even if we disagree with them.

Good question. Some things can be known without proof.
Try this, . . . Imagine "Nothing". This simple request is impossible.
It is not Black, White, or any shade of gray, and if you say it is transparent, then imagine transparent. This is also impossible, as we will see something even if our eyes are closed or open. Even the blind form a description, therefore are not describing "Nothing".
So, we are not able to fathom there being nothing. This, in our mind would have to deduce to man, nothing is non-existent. But we can't prove it.
"Whatever man can conceive, man can achieve" Conceive Nothing? One cannot . . .Why? Because . . . "Nothing" is IMPOSSIBLE! if this is true, then something always was and always will be. No beginning and no end. We cannot get away from that truth . . .even with a Big Bang theory, something caused that to happen. Always was and always will be. Some people believe that to be God for now. What would you call it?
One more thing. . .the Bible is a very old book . . .written by people who believed in mythology and had little education (if any) in science. They explained the unexplainable as best they could for their time. The writers were story tellers. Then, the Christian leaders picked out the scriptures to be used where they felt would help to control their followers. It is my belief, that we need a better book. . . . perhaps I'll write a new one and call it the "Brand New and Improved Really Good Book for the 21rst Century" perhaps so many people believe in the Bible, because it is better than . . . NOTHING!

Science has outrun religion. Hmm. Take this pill Mrs Jones. Your son will be born without arms and legs but at least you will stop feeling sick in the morning. Don't worry Mr sailor, just stand on the deck of this ship and watch this atomic bomb explode. No it won't hurt you at all. Oh, by the way, there is something out there in the universe that holds it all together. We can't see it. We can't measure it, but we have faith that it is ther. We'll call it cold dark matter!
I am a scientist. I have a degree in biological sciences and I have an I.Q. that puts me in the top half percent of mankind and I understand that most scientific method is bollocks. Scientific method is guided by arrogance on one side and dogma on the other. After all it's only a couple of years ago that science told you that stems cells did not exist in the adult human body. How wrong where they then. It's only a couple of years ago that scientists would tell you that cancer was a problem with mutation, when that turns out to be a problem with differentiation. If you put your faith anywhere, don't put it in science, because science has brought us weapons of mass destruction , messed with your food so it will turn you into a girl, destroyed the ozone layer, caused global warming and will leave you without a planet to live on. Religion never did that

Hunny I wasn't born a Catholic, we aren't born anything, we're usually raised in the beliefs of our families...But we have the choice to believe in whatever we decide to...
Many people leave the faith which they were raised in...
Myself, I've been to Baptist Churches, I've listened to the JW's (Jehovah's Witness) which are so totally full of it, they love twisting the Bible around, the Mormon's you can clearly see like the Scientologists and the JW's are a cult.
Forgive me if I don't believe you can sin all week long then go once a week to some guy in a booth that calls himself Father, yet has no kids, or is not supposed to, and confess anything I've done.
I believe in taking my sins before the Father, Son & the Holy Ghost, it's between God and me what I've done, I don't owe man any confessions and it's not his place to tell me to say or do anything to cleanse my soul, only my asking God to lift my sins will wash them, and I'm sorry I know Mary was a great and pure woman, but c'mon I'm not going to worship her like she's God, or above Jesus Christ, not gonna happen.
I have friends of almost every religion and whatever they choose to believe is fine with me, we have a mutual respect not to shove one another's beliefs at the other.
My proof of God's existence is what he's brought me thru in my life, I'd never have made it without God.
I've lived life life my way, umm most Christians would say the life of a of a "sinner"... and come back to him many times, but while being away I never forgot him, if you left your family for awhile would you forget they exist just because you weren't with them everyday?...
Hmmm Science has for yrs tried to explain why this and that has happened, and after all the amazing discoveries & wonders science has come up with, don't you think by now they'd have had no problem proving there is no God?....We've got DNA, cloning, cures for some forms of diseases now, no one ever thought we'd find, don't you think finding proof there is no God, shoulda been a breeze?
I think they will try until the day the Lord returns to prove that us (humans), animals, the world in general, that life is all some big science project from some big blast, but it's never gonna happen, c'mon they can't prove something that simple?... nope...and they never will.
I know he's here with me, I don't think it, and yes I have felt his presence many, many times.
Do you think if you have an evil presence in your midst your not going to feel it?....then why is it so hard to believe you can feel the holy presence of God in our midst?

first, catholics areNOT christians no matter what they say.
second, scientist who supported the evolution theory are now saying that it is wrong and that there is proof of an intelligent designer in the very dna in our own bodies. the way that the information is stranded together proves initself that it could not have formed right out of the blue. someone or something made it so that specific parts of the body cannot function unless a delicately regulated mixture if ingredients is in place. there is myproof that there is a God. just look very closely and study a sincle cell and youll find the evidence that you need.

Have you ever been fishing? when you get a bite on the line and you feel it pulling, how do you know it's a fish down there? You can't see it but you feel it pulling on you. I was never born in to a religious family. and if you want real historical proof that God existed it's there it's called the Holy Bible and it's been around for awhile.

I don't have absolute proof of God but I prefer to believe that everything didn't exist by chance. Besides, I can't get past the question why is there something rather than nothing at all?

Primitive man crewated spirits as an explanation for things he could not understand, mainly natural phenomena. As man got more civilized, those spirits evolved into gods.
Strangely, in our day and age, with our much better understanding of science and nature, there are still some people believing in those spirits. They don't realize that any religion is the same as offering sacifices to a holy tree...

I believe that science developed from a human desire to quantify this force called god that people believed in.
There have been some interesting scientific results regarding the development of plants when given particular attention. Also the behaviour of tiny molecules has been observed to change when the type of human (non-touching) attention is altered.

I used to believe in God because I felt he was near. But as I matured and educated myself I realized that I did feel something near but I just couldn't buy the story as the Bible told it. After much soul searching I came to realize that pagan beliefs better suit me. They make sense and feel right. I am very spiritual and I now feel that what I've always felt near me is the universe and my own part within it.
My own children ask me lots of questions. I do not want to sway their feelings. I do not expect them to be pagan because I am. I teach them what I believe but I also teach them about other religions. It is all very personal and one must find their own path. It is not my job to tell my children what they are supposed to believe.
My husband was raised Catholic. But by the time he was 12 he knew he didn't believe in any of it. He knew at the young age of 12 that he was pagan and he began following a druidic faith.
You are right. There is no proof of any of it. But I think most people feel what it is they believe. They feel it inside and what they feel is real to them and so they cling to it because faith is important.
I do not believe in organized religion. I do believe in spirituality and think that every person's journey is a personal one.
