Your friend is wrong, and Catholics love candy as much as anyone else, but parents do restrict holiday candys, not from hoarding but for the welfare of their kids. At Easter, there is always too much chocolate and such, and it would be foolish for parents to let their children to 'pig out'.

I think it's like every parent -- you don't let your kid pig out on the candy. :P It's bad for them, so it's not hoarding.
Strangers have the best candy, not Catholics. XD

And once a year, Catholics rise up, and pelt their holiday candy at trick or treaters to make them go away without toilet papering their homes.......

I never have, though I know several children who tried to spin their Easter Eggs out as long as possible.
I think your friend is pulling your leg.
