I'm about to purchase a car that has a 9 mpg city and 15 on highways, i dont really have a good idea of how far that would get me in one tank which is about 19 gallons. Can anyone give me a estimate?

9 miles per gallon, with 19 gallons allows you to travel 171 miles. But the real question here is why would you want to purchase a vehicle with such poor mileage?

What kind of vehicle gets this kind of gas mileage with a 19 gallon tank? Is it a Cobalt sitting on 40 inch Mickey Thompson off-road tires! You are probably going to average 12 MPG, so I'd estimate it at 228 miles. My H2 has a 32 gallon tank and it averages 12.1 MPG and will go 387.2 miles on a tank of gas. If I was you, I'd be looking at another vehicle.

All the way to the gas station :D
You're probably pretty safe to go 200 miles between refills. That's some pretty lousey milage though, unless you have an old pickup.

what kind of car/truck is this? it also depends on how you drive, like if you are in alot of stop and go you will get even less mpg. If I were you, I would look at more choices before I bought that one. Honda's and Toyota's have good mpg and run forever as long as you don't beat on them.
