No. One of our cats does the same thing. We carry her anyway and make her deal with it.

No. The meows are a sign of acknowledgement. And there should be no problem.
If a cat attacks you, it is a sign that you invade her space. Do not approach or chase a cat. They don't like that. Rather wait until the cat comes to you, and then set the rules of communication. That way you are in charge and the cat, having initiated the contact, will aceept that.
I live with three cats and had many more over the years, and never had a single problem with one.

Hi there...some kitties are vocal about being picked up and constrained. It doesn't necessarily mean she dislikes you rather perhaps begin handled. However, as long as she doesn't swat or bite when you hold her it is alright. If she does do these then it's best to leave her for the time being and try another time. To make it more fun and less stressful for her offer her food treat as a way to reward her for allowing you pick up and hold her. Just be certain to offer the treat when you hear a moment of silence and over time she will look forward to being picked up for a treat. :-)

My cat will meow just to let me know she is tolerating me holding her but there is no aggression or ill intent behind it. Now if she were hissing and spitting, obviously I would know she is unhappy about it.

She is uncomfortable and her personality doesnt allow it, some cats are just like that. Does she hiss or try to scratch you?

Sounds to me like she really doesn't like to be carried. I bet it scares her terribly. I don't think she hates you she is just scared. I don't think a lot of cats like to be carried.
I did have one though who wouldn't let you pick him up and hold him but wanted you to carry him around and hold him. I thought that was very odd. He was hard to carry around cause he was 15 pounds but I did every now and then just to make him happy. LOL.

Cats are very independant animals. the best thing to do is to stop trying to pick her up and pester her. Let her come to you. She'll soon let you know when she wants you to make a fuss of her but it well always be on her terms

She is probably one of those cats that hate to be lifted. My 2 cats are like that but i do it anyway to prove a point that no one is gonna hurt them.

No, of course she doesn't hate you.
But not all cats liked to be carried, your's is just one of them. My cat runs away when i try to carry him too, but I swear he loves me as much as I love him.

She doesn't hate you. Some cats just don't like to be picked up. Each cat has its own likes and dislikes, mine doesn't like to be carried either.
