My sister-in-law brought me this little yellow, round thing. She said the guy that gave it to her called it a lemon cucumber. What am I supposed to do with it? Do you eat it raw, or is it used in a special dish. Can you pickle it?? I've never heard of such a thing.

Lemon cucumbers are related to the cucumber just a different type. Lemon cucumbers can be eaten the same way you would eat a cucumber. I like them sliced thin with lemon juice, salt and cayenne pepper. Delicious

Sounds like you can use it like you would a regular cucumber. Website I found says it is used primarily for pickling, slicing, and in salads. Very easy to digest. I say you slice it up and eat it.

no, but i've heard of a frubarb. I used to keep one as a pet. It was the result of a cross breed between a stick of rhubarb and a fig roll. Unfortunately, it escaped.

it sounds like a pattypan. round-ish and yellow. like a very smallyellow type of pumpkin with a white / light yellow colour when you cut it open. you can eat them raw but they are better steamed or cooked in a stir fry.
