a person who has low calcium is a person who have not meet the required calcium needed by her/his body. calcium is needed to have strong bones and teeth. usually women are prone in calcium deficiency (low amounts of calcium in the body). it's because women tend to excrete minerals during a menstrual cycle (it's also a cause of iron deficiency anemia). low calcium in the body may tend to retard bone growth and may cause osteoporosis. to acquire the required amounts of calcium especially in women, there are calcium supplements available especially for women. milk is always a good source of calcium so it's always advisable to have an intake of it everyday.

Calcium deficiency is usually due to an inadequate supply or a failure in metabolism of calcium. Calcium, the main structural element of bones and teeth, is one of the most important minerals that helps in the growth and maintenance and reproduction of the human body. In addition to helping to maintain bone and dental health, calcium is also involved in a wide variety of other functions, including blood coagulation, the transmission of nerve impulses, muscle contraction and relaxation, normal heartbeat, stimulation of hormone secretion and the activation of enzyme reactions.
When blood calcium levels drop too low, the vital mineral is “borrowed” from the bones. It is returned to the bones from calcium supplied through the diet. If an individual’s diet is low in calcium, there may not be sufficient amounts of the element available in the blood to be returned to the bones … leading to a net loss in bone mass, a condition called osteopenia . Osteopenia can lead to osteoporosis, or porous bone. Osteoporosis is responsible for 1.5 million bone fractures in the U.S. every year.

It means that you don't eat enough dairy products: milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, etc. Low calcium for long periods of time throughout your life will lead to osteoporosis in women. Take calcium supplements, you can buy them at any store and are very inexpensive.

Calcium is required for good bones and teeth. So low calcium will mean osteoporosis (loss of bone mass, brittle bones) and poor teeth.

it means that he is not taking enough diet to fulfill his/her calcium daily need. i.e 1000mg per day and one of my friends sugessted to drink milk for that matter. Let me tell you that one glass of pure milk contains 15 to 20mg of calcium so you can well-imagine that how many glasses of milk you have to drink. Anyways if you cannot take enough diet you can take natural food supplements(vitamins) to complete the daily intake of calcium and the best place to get the natural food supplement is GNC that has also opened in Pakistan.
