They have done that since the beginning of time, who knows why they do it. It is their culture. Does everyone in the world have to live like us? Should Muslims debate how we live?

Its because Muslim women keep all about herself for one man only, that is her husband. Even she didn’t married yet but all of things that she posses, its all for her husband-to-be. That’s the special about Muslim. If she tell and show everything on herself, so there is nothing special that she can give to his husband coz everybody else got the same. So, the husband will get the best of her.

They believe that only the Husband should be allowed to view the beauty of thier wives. Too bad most are related to each other when they marry so they already know how they look under the abaya. Apparently 1st cousins is cool at least it is in Saudi.

it's not some, it's within the law of the muslims not to reveal their women most esp physically
if you ever wonder why they have to cover up all the way from head to foot and just the eyes showing, it is because it is forbidden for any guy to stare at muslim women, their cultire dictates so

possibly because God ordered it? possibly it truly is ideal for mankind that way? i imagine guys are more effective in all probability to lust after women human beings than women human beings are to lust after men.. possibly thats why? possibly the overlaying helps men and ladies human beings to maintain away from adultery, and so on... and ladies human beings can likely be relied on more effective to truly save themselves coated for the sake of mankind than men might want to be relied on. (women human beings being moms and so on.. having this form of function possibly care more effective about society) - women human beings were relied on with different popular jobs for the fulfillment of mankind ie childbearing. actuality is, men and ladies human beings are literally not the same, they're diverse. possibly thats why they have a diverse algorithm.. basically from all the answers i read above me, i conclude:
They hide them so that the men won't be horny..
wow.. cool stuff, huh?
let's wrap the women so that we, the men, don't have to struggle with our inability to keep a pure thought.

its supposed to be respectful of their modesty, but its really disrespectful of a womans rights as a human being
of course this practice did not originate with islam anyway, so you cant blame it on them only, ancient jewish and christian (and greek and so on) societies did the same thing, we have just stopped doing it by now

because they stupidly think that all men are turned on by the sight of a woman's skin. of course, its just an excuse for sexual assault and rape, and a sick reason to blame the victim
