How do so many ppl do it? Because as a christian, when I die, a new life begins... Meaning I will have gone to heaven, a million times better than earth.

Your right gal! Christians go to heaven. But not all! Going to heaven is not easy as ppl might think. You have to do good deeds in your life, and live in the way that God wants. So when you are die, and God asks you, "why should I let you go into heaven?" Then you can say, "God, I've done many good things in my life to help another people, and I've lived in the way You want, so I deserve to be in heaven".
So make your "saving" now, and get the ticket to heaven! ;-)

I'm glad for you, truly. To have such certainty must be wonderfully reassuring. Living this life as though it is the only life means you have to make the most of the time you have, have to be sure you cause the least possible harm by your actions, your words, your presence in the world. If you can manage to do more and be a good influence, bring a smile, bring relief, bring peace to others, then so much the better. It's a different sort of challenge, that's all - if there's no eternity, then your being here has to matter while you are here. If you can manage to make the world just one time better while you're here, you've lived and died to some purpose.

Because reality is scary, life is hard. People get sick, people die, it's sad.
You don't have to be a Christian to believe that when you die ' a new life begins' one that is 'a million times better than earth'.

We live good lives here on earth.
I can prove this life is real so I do what I can to make it better. If I get an afterlife I will do the same thing there.

Then don't. Don't waste your life by stressing over the afterlife...or lack of it. We are all in the same boat baby. Truth is, No one knows for sure 'till they're dead. So live! And stop worrying about it.

It's the simple realization that I know I have this moment in time. The next thing is asking how I want to spend that time and make my imprint on the world in whatever other time I also have.

I accept that death is then end for the simple reason that that is reality.
I will not deceive and lie to myself because an after-life makes me feel better.
You apparently don't have that problem.
