Well, 13 is an age when you're become an adolescent, so it's natural that you're going to start wondering about many things. Believe me, am 19 and have passed through that; and am still passing actually.
Yes, I know; there are many misunderstading about God. I think we people sometimes see God through our own characteristics. We think God is selfish because we are selfish, we don't believe that God really cares of this world because if we were Him maybe we wouldn't do it. The same thing may happen when we hear that God is good and love, and we know a person who's really good, we use to think, "oh, God must be like my grandpa who's so good". It's natural to think that way, but it's not totally accurate. God's love is beyond anything we would ever know. "Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me" (Psalm 27:10). But the reality is that God loves every person so much, as if that person were the only one on this planet. Doesn't matter how or who you are, you're the most important thing for Him. No one knows you as well as He does, and yet He loves you just the way you are.
The best way to get to know God is through His Word. Specially, Jesus reveals how is God. He's God in human flesh. Thanks to Him, now we know how God would be if He were a man. As somebody said, "Now, the difficult part is not to accept that Christ is God, but to accept God if He were not Jesus". God brakes in human history and becomes one of us, so we may not doubt that He understands what we live, and that He's always there, looking for us. He's always the one who goes the extra mile for us, shouldn't we love Him back?
So my advice would be: read the Bible, you may start by reading the story of Jesus; talk to Jesus as your best friend; not just repeat a prayer, but really talk to Him as you would do it with any person. A relationship with Jesus is not monothony; He likes us to adventure with Him, so don't be affraid to take risks with Jesus.

Take care, my friend; God bless you!

Limited living entities such as ourselves can never fully understand the limits of God, because there aren't any, God not only has unlimited potency or energy, he also has unlimited qualities.
It is a very nice question, if you would like to understand more about the Supreme person, ask your parents to buy you a copy of the Bhagavad Gita As It Is translated from Sanskrit into English by HDG A C Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, in Chapter Ten "the opulence of the absolute" is described and in chapter eleven "the universal form".

There is a saying that goes something like this, 'a mans God is only as broad as his mind'.
Basically what it means is that a narrow mind would inherently only be capable of a narrow view of God.
Maybe your mind has outgrown your original idea of God. You will have to find an interpretation of God that matches your new position, stop believing in God, or try to defend your current idea of God even though you really do not believe in it. I would recommend either of the first two options.
