You might try downloading and installing and using a free program called "Belarc Advisor". It's available at the below link. Good luck.

There's an easier way than that, without installing anything.

Click the Start Button.
Select Control Panel.
Double Click "System"
Switch to the Hardware Tab.
Click the Device Manager Button.

Here, there is a list of every piece of hardware in your computer. If anything is X'd out, or has a yellow exclamation mark, there is a problem.

Another way, for a smaller amount of items:
Click the Start Button
Select "Run"
type dxdiag and click Ok.
look through the tabs, and check different diagnostics.

balarc advisor only tells you the devices you got inside.

try testing them with sisoftsandra

or in full dos mode with hiren`s magik boot cd.

yes there is... try google to search that s/w... they're plenty.. choose the brand u like!!!
