I recently started dating someone. A week ago, he told me that he was getting a cold sore. I met him again yesterday, and he had two big cold sores around his mouth. I didn't know about cold sores much, and we kissed yesterday several times (so his cold sores are a week-old). Today, I did some research on cold sores, and found out it could be very contagious. I've never had any cold sores in my life, and am I going to get it for sure now I've kissed him or is there a possibility that I might not get that? If I'm going to get it for sure, I'd like to meet with a doctor and get the medication before it happens.
I'm really scared now.. Please help!!
Thank you.

Most cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus. Something like 99% of the population is exposed to this virus before they are ONE YEAR OLD. So if you've never had a cold sore, you probably will not get it from your boyfriend.

attempt to no longer be in hysterics approximately it. whether you transferred the virus on your daughter, the worst which will happen is that she too gets a chilly sore. that's previous uncommon for somebody to die from herpes virus. attempt additionally to no longer touch the section...it somewhat is unfold to any mucus membrane, even nevertheless it is not going you have achieved that. basically wash your arms lots to be risk-free. i'm helpful all is nicely.

cold sores are a form of herpes.
so are 'chicken pox'

most ppl already have the virus, it just needs to be activated to get the herpes lesions.
if you have a good immuno-defence system there is no need to worry. but if r alread weak you might get it.
