I am trying to make fun of isreal or anything but...

POINT 1

how could the "claimed to be" most advanced and very powerful army in the world, whose ally is the country with the strongest army in the world, lose a war against a few hundred fighters... not to mention they have no armored Vehicles.

POINT 2

what da HELL happend to Isreal's missile deffense system, which as far as I know is the best and most complex in the world, even better than that of us in America.

They even have the best American anti-missile batteries

Yet all these systems fail to shoot down a single Hizbollah missile(you think they have the best missiles in the world? they look home-made)

POINT 3

don't argue and say they didn't loose, Isreal promised to destroy Hizbollah--- they didn't
now Hizbollah is stronger that ever (maybe they now proved that they are the most powerful army, which is ironic because it is so small)

Last if Hizbollah did all that now I really wonder what Iran can do

Hizbollah succeeded in making the army of Israel a 'joke' for the world to laugh at?
I am trying to make fun of isreal or anything but...

POINT 1

how could the "claimed to be" most advanced and very powerful army in the world, whose ally is the country with the strongest army in the world, lose a war against a few hundred fighters... not to mention they have no armored Vehicles.

**True but an entrenched enemy inside of a city is difficult to up root. Just look at how well the 101st Defended Bastone during WWII.

POINT 2

what da HELL happend to Isreal's missile deffense system, which as far as I know is the best and most complex in the world, even better than that of us in America.

They even have the best American anti-missile batteries

Yet all these systems fail to shoot down a single Hizbollah missile(you think they have the best missiles in the world? they look home-made)

** Probably has to do with not enough time to react or how government contracts being award to the lowest bidder /shrug

POINT 3

don't argue and say they didn't loose, Isreal promised to destroy Hizbollah--- they didn't
now Hizbollah is stronger that ever (maybe they now proved that they are the most powerful army, which is ironic because it is so small)

**Of course somebody one! Look at all the free demolition the Lebonese have recieved. Now is the time to invest in some local construction companies.

Last if Hizbollah did all that now I really wonder what Iran can do

**Not to worry. The Electromagnetic Bomb - a Weapon of Electrical Mass Destruction

All we would have to do is drop EMP Bombs per square hundred miles or so in Iran and send them back to the stone age where they came from. The big advantage would be that after the fact the buildings would still be standing. Perfect time to invest in rebuilding a nation from the ground up.

I don't believe for a minute that Hizbollah did any of the things you stated. They refuse to wear any type of uniforms and identify themselves as combatants, they hid themselves in the civilian population. In a straight up fight with the IDF, Hizbollah would be wiped out in a matter of days. This fight was as much about propaganda and world opinion as it was about combat operations. The media spread it, and idiots like you bought it.
Hizbollah is not an army, they are a political faction composed of terrorists that cowers down behind their women and kids. An army will engage their enemy directly in combat, these guys lob missiles at civilian targets and then scuttle back into the holes they crawled out of and let the civilians they are hiding among take the casualties.
The type of missiles that they are using are very low altitude small signature targets, not the kind of thing that the Patriot batteries are designed to shoot down. (Anti-missile defense is way over rated anyhow). If you take a look at history, and see how the Israeli's have defeated their enemies in a stand up fight (if you don't believe me, than ask Egypt, Jordan, Syria etc... about what it's like to get their *** kicked by Israel). Trust me, this fight is not over. No war has been lost. There's a cease fire in place, but as soon as some nutjob launches another missile into Israel , it'll be back on.
I can kinda understand how you can make these statements though. I figure from your post that you are about 14 or so, and probably will get grounded when your mommy catches you up late posting on the internet with the big people.

Before I go on I want to point out a few misconceptions that people seemed to have about Hezbollah in this post alone.

1. They are not associated with Al-Qaeda which has vehemently opposed Shiaa's and dislikes them. Al-Qaeda conducted the World Trade Center attack and Hezbollah was in no way associated or condoned it.

2. Katyusha rockets are low tech but not home made, I think the poster was referring to Hamas' kassam rockets which are being used by its makers from Gaza.

Now in response to the question, I do not believe that the Israeli army was totally humiliated, but it did show major weakness in urban combat tactics when compared Hezbollah. I would say Hezbollah was much stronger than the Israelis on the ground maybe due to its familiarity with the terrain and possibly better ground training. Hezbollah also showed that it was able to even impede heavy ground attack vehicles like the Merkava tank, which I will admit is one of the most amazing fighting machines in the world in terms of armor, mobility and firepower.

Israels Air-Force and surveillance teams did not prove to be a major advantage for Israel. I actually believe that its use was the reason people turned against Israel later on in the battle, as the IAF conducted many indiscriminate attacks. I think a larger ground offensive with less focus on air strikes would have proven to be more successful in uprooting the resistance movement.

The patriot missle defense system catches less then 10% of airborne threats and only so if it is set up in a concentrated array. It's use is more for the illusion of saftey that it brings to people. It was also hard for an anti-air system to stop the rockets as the Hezbo's would fire from 3 different sites far away from each other at the same quardenants to bog down the radar system.

Hopefully the fighting will stop and we don't have to argue this anymore.

I will discuss all 3 of your points.
1First off they dont claim to have the most advanced army. That claim is that of the USA. They didnt lose the war.
2Hezbollah wasnt firing missiles into israeli. they are rockets. There is a big difference. and they were shooting hundreds a day. its not possible to shoot them all. rockets are smaller then missles and harder to hit.
3 I will ague with you cause i dont believe they lost. They might not have destroyed Hezzbolah, but they take control of southern Lebannon. and kill many of the men they set out to kill. And you need to realize that an army was fighting a group of rebels. Hezzbollah fought the israeli army while in building with civlilians. cause they are ******* and know they cant take on the army without hiding by innocent people. that way when civilians are killed the rest of the world is outraged and then hates israeli and thus starts to be simathectic toward their cause. when it really was hezzbollah's fault that they werekilled. And ITs hard for israel to know who they are suppose to shoot at cause hezbollah were dressed like civilians.

Israeli can kick the crap out of the irani army. WHy? cause they know where all the bases and army of iran is. Cause it would be a fight between 2 armies. Not between an army and some civilian rebels.

You are right about the rockets. The Hezbollah use the old Russian style Katusha rockets because they are low tech and are "home made". The ideal if your resources are limited.
Did they make the Israeli army look like a joke? No, I don't think so. The Israelis advanced easily into territory, destroying infrastructure at their pleasure. The Hezbollah won in that they were able to delay the Israelis long enough to get the support for Lebanon that was needed for Lebanon to survive.
Is Hezbolla stronger now? I do not think they are at the moment, but when they are done licking their wounds I think they will have earned much more support not only in Lebanon but throughout the free world. Definitely throughout the Middle East. This will likely translate into more political power and better financing and material supplies as well as more recruitment. As you point out, they have the support of all the different religions in the area(except for the Zionists)
Iran is much larger and much more committed to its defense than Iraq was, I think it would be foolish to under estimate them or to think that the population would welcome an American invasion. They are still able to remember the Pahlavi Shah, US supported and maintained by a force of secret police with torture and terror squads. The General population prefers their religious right wing government to that by a wide margin. At least they are not seeing random murders and disappearances anymore.

first of all you don't seem to understand the difference between missiles and rockets. Anti-missile systems don't work on short range, lower altitude rockets. Shooting down a rocket with one of these systems is like shooting down an artillery round with a rifle.
Israel made no such "promise" to destroy hezbollah. They've tried to inflict as much damage as they can short of a total invasion and all out war which would have caused significantly higher civilian casualties as well. I wouldn't smugly thumb my nose at Israel. One reason they haven't accomplished more than they have is because of trying to minimize loss of civilian life. Hezbollah is not stronger than ever but to be honest they are just an extension of syria and iran, and til those two are dealt with they become hard to destroy in a limited war. Don't underestimate Israels ability to deal with this situation if they were not practicing restraint.

May be Israelis have not won the war, but they fought like men, not like the Hezbollah, who hiding under the skirts of women, used to fire rockets.

And they excelled in propagonda also. Whenever the opportunities were available, they made use of it in turning the world's opinion against Israel, showing the pictures of children who were made to shield the Hezbollah.

And they call themselves as Heroes! What a contrast?

VERY INTERESTING POINT OF VIEW BY MILITARY COMPETENTS I AM READING NOW.

Basicaly they are saying : IT is because Hezbollah does not go to the oppen fields to fight (fireing the deep blue sky) - so the Israeli TOYS IN SKYS bomb them and finish the war the first day.

One more "Joke"
A TALEBAN COMMANDER HAS SAID RECENTLY THAT IF THAY HAD ONLY 10% OF FINANCE Hezbollah HAS - THEY WOULD HAVE FINISH THE COALITION IN AFGANISTAN IN THIS YEARS.

We know who has the most modern TOYS, but if Destroying Iranian army would have been so easily - as I am reading right now - they would have done it without asking anyone.

The Iranians are not compelled at fireing Israeli bases in case of war, they would strike what they think would hurt the enemy most.
In these case someone would again say that Iranians are not playing fair as for Hezbollah

Your an idiot. You side with a terrorist organization that hide behind civilians - and then declare victory when Isreal is not able to go house to house to clean them out of their hiding places. We are not talking about an army who met Israel face to face on the battlefield - like Israel has done with every Islamic Militant nation that surrounds them.
You side with a terrorist organization that has ties to the same organization that planned and carried out the attack on the WTC.
Is it any wonder we can't destroy terrorist organizations - when there are so many people who listen to their propaganda and side with them.

Why do you think the cameras were so quick on the scene after Israeli attacks killed civlians? Do you really think it was the news teams with the footage. No, it was the terrorists themselves. They are trained on how to fight propaganda wars. They attacked Israel from civilian sectors, and then when civilian casualties inevitably occured - they were the first on the scene with their cameras to show the world the carnage that Israel "caused".

Like the little monkey at the carnival - they play their music, and you keep dancing. Congratulations.
