*Chuckles* Well you won't have to use birth control anymore,,,,,for the dog, not you.
For the next few days your Dogs not gonna feel very well- give him a few days, lots of love, lots of petting and pretty soon he'll be up and running around.
Its a whole lot harder on females when they get spayed than just a male getting the nip and tuck job

You just need to provide a clean environment, so that he's not infected. The vet might ask you to give him some medication or to put some disinfectant on the area once a day. Don't do anything if you're not told by the doctor, because it could be the wrong thing. Usually the vets give the dog an antibiotic as a precaution, so you don't need to do anything other than cleanliness.

He may come home a little tired but other than that he'll be fine. We just neutered my English Shepard last month and he came home and went right to playing with our other dogs like nothing happened.

Keep him as quiet as possible. Watch for blood in his urine. Don't give him a lot to eat right away.
It is relatively minor surgery, and they recover quickly, a lot more so than females.
He will likely be fine. Get a post-op check if the vet tells you to.
Check the incision for bleeing, drainage, or separation.

The vet should talk to you about this. My sister recently got her female dog spayed and they told her to make sure she doesn't run around or strain herself for a week. But let your vet know your concerns but they should let you know how to take care of him.

LEAVE HIM ALONE!!!
No fuss,no treats,no "poor wittle baby"...leave him alone to sleep off the meds.
Then...nothing.
