I think it is all about personal choice.
Paul is documented in the bible for saying that it is better to not marry, because then you can avoid the problems of married life and devote yourself entirely to God. But he also said that if you can not refrain from adultery, you should get married.
However, the bible also talks about how the priests and teachers of the law in the Old Testament had wives.
So, I think it is just a matter of personal preference. The Catholic church just wants to make sure that their priests are completely dedicated to their church, their parishioners, and their God. There is nothing wrong with that. Whoever joins the priesthood knows all the facts before doing so.

Because they are human, and it might stop the many priests who molest kids!
The theory behind them not getting married is that in theory it would be a distraction from their relationship with God, but it seems many get distracted anyway, to the point of being more sinful than they would have been if they got married in the first place!

Why wouldn't they have the same freedoms as the rest of us? God created us as sexual beings. The consequences of preventing them from marrying have been sexually deviant priests practicing their deviant works quietly and in the shadows. Molesting boys and girls, getting young women and widows and even other mens' wives pregnant. Protestantism has proved that it is reasonable to allow servants of God to marry does not hurt the church, and that the priesthood is not a good hiding place for sexual deviants. This does not prevent sexual deviants from trying to use the status of priesthood as a cover for their activities. The priesthood does work better with married servants doing the work of ministries.

Well I don't belong to that religion so my opinion in that matter shouldn't really matter.
However I will share it anyway ;)
I honestly think that the fact that priests are made to believe that all sex , for them at least, is a sin - is what distorts their perception of sexual morality and is why you have priests molesting children.
I believe that it's unfair, but it's not my religion. They believe in that religion and want to serve it, they make the choice.

God made man and woman to procreate not to stay celebit and I think the biggest job of a preist is to give guidence on how to live your every day life, how many peoples every day life involves being a preist, not many so how can he give guidence on a subject he knows nothing about like raising children maintaing a happy marraige or most importantly dealing with your in-laws in a civil maner

God created man AND WOMAN and said be fruitful and multiply.
It is sinful to have sexual relations outside of marriage.
Priests are men and should marry women and be fruitful.
