When you don't have a shred of proof for what you believe in but you really want to believe in it faith is all you have left. It's the answer to lack of reason.

That isn't the answer to /all/ religious questions. The answer to various questions depends first on what religion you are. While faith is a large part of being Christian, it's not such a large part of other religions, which have other answers.

To your other question, why have faith in a God that's let the world suffer, I say this: Why do you believe suffering exists? The answer to that will guide you to the answer to your question on why your God lets it happen.

My answer, from a non-Christian, but spiritual point of view, is that suffering is necessary. If there was no suffering, there could be no true joy - how could you ever know how wonderful joy is, unless you'd never experienced suffering before? How could you appreciate light, unless you'd seen darkness? Or vice versa? Suffering is part of being human - it's part of what /makes/ us human. We have such a wide range of emotions - imagine how dull it would be to only experience one of them? Imagine how lifeless it would be, to go through life knowing that nothing would ever change, that it'd always just be happy and pleasant? You'd never appreciate it. Ever. You couldn't, because it wouldn't mean anything to you. You need something to compare it to, or it just becomes the baseline.

God gives every person the choice of doing good or evil. He does not make the world suffer, but he has to allow things to happen the way they may. It is up to us to have the faith to pray and work toward a life that God will bless. If God didn't allow any suffering what would be the point in heaven?

oblivions_abyss,
I don't speak for 'religions', but for what I know about what Jesus said.

Jesus said,"Your faith had made you whole."

Jesus would tell people what they needed to do to be saved. And His answer was clear. You have to trust God to do what He promised to do.

"Is seems like "Have faith" is the answer to all questions like: Who created God?"
I would not answer that way. "Who created God?" No one created God. He created everything. But your question is already immersed in disbelief. You draw from the wisdom of the world. And God promised that the wisdom of the world is foolishness.

"My questions is why should I have faithe in a God that let's the world suffer?"
He didn't cause the suffering. But will you believe even that? And if you believe that, the question may arise;
"Why doesn't He do anything about all that suffering?"
He does, if you trust Him. God said that if He says something, He will do it.

Because that's what religion is all about. Having faith. Why does the world suffer? God is the father, and He lets the world suffer so that we may learn from it. If we don't learn, we humans might end up killing each other to extinction. Then God will just replace us. We are part of the great experiment.

It is such a common misconception that people think that God allows the world to suffer.

Think about it. God created a perfect world. Adam and Eve were thrown out of Eden for their disobedience. It may seem harsh to us, but we aren't God and we can't understand his ways.

Right away, starting with Cain and Abel, people started killing each other. God was extremely upset with the death of Abel. Then people parted ways and turned from God, causing different religions and opinions that would disagree and start wars.

People's cars and factories pollute the earth that causes global warming and natural disasters and changes the earth's climate,
and then wonder how God could let such terrible things like the Tsunami happen.

The point is, all bad things happen as the result of bad people. If everyone actually lived in the peaceful way that God had designed for us, we would have no pain or death.

Also, God will help those who need help, but only if they ask, and only if they truly believe. Everything else is up to us. If you know of someone poor, or sad, or starving, or diseased, it is YOUR responsibility to help them. God can't exactly come to earth every day and cure every disease and solve every problem...then we wouldn't learn any lessons.

most of the suffering in the world is created by mankind, exercising free will. we have the freedom to make choices in how we will live, and have been given the tools we need to do away with most of this suffering. God is NOT some divine mommy who is going to stop us from being us...much like you have been given 'spell-check' by the folks at YA and chose not to use it...this is not meant as a put-down...but, rather, as an example...had you used 'spell check' and what you were taught in english class, you would have avoided 'faithe' and "let's"...so, does that indict YA for those slight errors? of course not! again, i'm not putting you down at all...i'm just trying to illustrate the folly of blaming God for free choices that are poorly exercised. as far as 'who created God'...no one did. and there are a lot of questions asked on this site that could ONLY be answered by God himself...for those, we DO have to exercise a little faith in that we may not know the answers in this lifetime-God bless

because there is no known answer and proof, so they use blind faith to believe.
some people say that the world suffers because men and women have sinned and some stuff about the devil and evil and not due to God
.(more likely there is no God and faith is used so that we believe without knowing for real anything, sorta like a cult)

I don't understand it either. It's like saying, it's out of your hands, let someone else decide. We should be proactive and shape our world while contributing to society. Too many people let others pave the way for them and that's a dangerous thing because it leads to complacency and idleness which are serious wastes of human potential. Don't simply have faith, change your world for the better every single day!

There are infinite ways to look at life, and you can only look at a few before losing yourself and losing faith in all which you believe. You must have faith in something or else you will never again know anything. The world is one giant mirror.
