Anywhere from one to six months. I work in a hospital and whenever an employee has an exposure to a patient via a needlestick or something like that they are tested for HIV at 1, 3 and 6 months afterward.

Get one immediately for at least a base line and then have one in a month and then in 6 months and then in a year. It doesn't always show up right away. Why in the world would you put yourself through this - use a condom for God's sake. The fear is a horrible way to live. I got a medical exposure and I still am afraid that someday it will come along. That was 5 years ago. The saying is, when you have sex with someone, you are exposured to whoever they had sex with for the last 10 years, so I guess it can take up to 10 years to show up. Good luck, but don't take chances like that.

For an antibody test (the type of test typically used) it usually takes 4-12 weeks for a person to show positive.

If you can find anonymous testing, all the better. Then you can control who knows you are seeking testing and who knows the results.

HIV is no longer an automatic death sentence but it is a major hassle and can cost big $$$ to treat - not to mention the issues surrounding sex and dating once infected....

Not the end of the world if you turn up positive but WAY better to avoid it in the first place!

Good Luck and Stay Safe!

My clearblue being pregnant try leaflet says to attend 19 days when you've sex formerly you may take a try and function or not it is precise in case you dont recognize once you're meant to start up or once you've been ovulating. it really is because sperm can stay frequently 3 yet as a lot as 5 days on your gadget formerly they die. So once you've sex, then ovulate 5 days later, that can provide time for the blastocycst (if there grow to be conceptiong) to commute the mandatory 7 days down the fallopian tubes and into the uterus so it would want to implant. once implantation occurs hCg is immediatly dumped into your blood stream inspite of the undeniable fact that it takes a minimum of 40 8 hours it to be metabolized into your urine and then some days later you may want to get a great good constructive. So 19 days it truly is :D wish that helped! numerous toddler dirt!
