how much will braces cost when i'm under my dad's insurance?

my parents think that getting braces is only a waste of money so i'm deciding on raising the money myself because i'd rather get my braces during my teenage years than getting it when i'm an adult.

do you pay monthly? if so then how much will you pay each month? or do you pay it before or after your teeth are straight?

I think average is $5000. If you parents have insurance, it will help pay for some of that. You might be asked to put a down payment of around $1000 and pay monthly around $130 for 18 months after the down payment is made. It may vary from person to person, but I think that's about average. You can pay the monthly payments while you're braces are in.

It depends what kind you get. And yes you can do monthly, but you have to put in a $600 deposit. And then pay every month. The average is about 4,000. But it really depends on how much your Dad's insurence will pay. Go for a free consultaion with one of your parents. Don't make any decisions, but ask your parent how much it'll cost. Then you can go from there. But remember after braces you have to buy a retainer, and it's not included in the $4000, it's an extra cost of about $400.

If you do braces later on when your an adult, your gums become harder to move your teeth, and might have to do major surgeries. (If I didn't do mine now, I would have too, and I'm not even an adult)

My daughter's braces are going to cost me about $5,500. The dental insurance will pay $100 every year of that amount. The rest, I have on a payment plan, which I pay monthly. By the time she gets them off, the bill will be paid.

Both of my sisters had braces but the $$ ran out. Wish I could have thought of a way to pay for them when I was a teenager. Now, I am waiting until my daughter's teeth are fixed and I will start on straightening mine. I just do not understand parents who think that braces are a waste of $$!
