I always find it amusing when serious types answer emotive questions. Somehow they become more serious - no surprise there then. Yawn.

Hi there..
So what is odd about us Americans these days? I have been travelling (both for business and holidays) to three continents over the past two years. In many cases with my family...
I have not noticed anything odd to speak of. People (from all walks of life) are different all over the world -- which is what makes them cool and interesting.
Do you have anything specific to refer to?
Otherwise, generalizations (no matter about what), could only bring forward issues.

I don't think we Americans have ever been considered anything but off the wall. Or annoying, or rude, or many bad things. People still come here in droves, though, so there must be something at least interesting about us.

Which North Americans are you referring to: those from Canada, Mexico, any of those little countries between the Yucatan and Colombia, or the United States? Or all of them? If it's the latter, then no, I haven't noticed.

if you are referring to my wandering around Central Station-...
i'll have you know it was NOT a very funny joke when, apparently
several Netherlanders took it upon themselves to FIRST change many of the roadway signs, then secondly 'chnage-up' the signs instructing one which train would take them back to Schipol (Spelling-2 ?) anyway it was extremely funny- although i was a TAD concerned as i had never reset my watch to local time and you can probably guess the rest.
Anyway- i enjoy having a good time wherever i go & certainly am not going to allow language barrier to become a difficulty.

Americans are no odder than anyone else living in a dangerous fast paced enviornment.
I don't think Americans take themselves too seriously but I think we do take the threat of faschist islam seriously
