late afternoon coffee while the sun goes down
followed by going out for dessert/something sweet somewhere cosy
followed by a walk through the city/park/on the boardwalk
nothing too showy, not a whole evening, not expensive and lots of time for you to get to know each other a little.

depends, for a kid going to a empty movie that neither of us saw then to her/him's favorite fast food place and then a sort of transition from the date to hanging out with her.
as for an adult going to the most expensive place i can find then bringin her back to my place for whatever he/she is ready to do whether it be talking drinking tv sex whatever.
