If you live in the U.S. there is no such thing as 05 Escort,
The Escort was replaced by the Focus
In '05 the Focus was chosen by Consumer Reports as a BEST BUY.
According to the recently released J.D. Power & Assoc Dependability study (of vehicles on the road for 3 years) Ford ranked #12 (above industry average) and Mitsubishi came in at #25 , welll below the industry average .
Therefore you should choose the Ford Focus
I see that LAFF man (next answerer) doesn't like the Ford Focus
Who do you want to listen to ? Consumer Report magazine?
J.D. Powers 3 year study?
or the guy who laughs hysterically & has a ZERO Best Answer quotient in the 'cars & transportation catagory.

If both are new, I will go for Lancer, if not, i will go for 2 yrs old Escort. Both are alike.

03 Mitsubishi lancer is better , because fors sucks !!!!!!
