The nine gifts of the Spirit are listed in (1cor 12:8-11)
For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom;
to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts
of healing by the same Spirit; to anohter the working of
miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of
spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the
interpretation of tongues: But all these worketh the one
and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally
as he will.
The gifts of the Spirit show the power of God while the
fruit of the Spirit shows the character of God. There are
some of God's power that He cannot entrust us with if
we do not have His character. In order to have more of
the operation of God's power in our lives, we must first
seek His character.(Gal 5:22)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance:
against such there is no law.
The fruit of the Spirit balances the Gifts of the Spirit.
There are nine Gifts and there are nine Fruits.

AND OF WORD AND SPIRIT
We must have a balance of the Word and the Spirit.
It is desperately necessary that we remain balanced
in life. John 4:24 records, " God is a spirit; and they
that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth"
We must have both spirit and truth. Either Word without
Spirit or Spirit without Word is a very dangerous
combination. We've got to have both to have balance
in the Spirit realm. The balance of spirituality is not
carnality or worldliness, but the Word of God is........
" Sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to
the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints
and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and
intents of the heart"(Hebrews 4:12). If we have all
Word , we dry up. If we have all Spirit , we blow up.
If we have the right balance of Word and Spirit, then
we grow up. "But speaking the truth in love, we may
grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even

Christ"(Ephesians 4:15) Let us grow up in the balance
of Word and Spirit. The Word of God is not a theological
book, but rather a spiritual book. It can only be
understood through the Spirit. The Word is eternal in
duration, inexpressible in value, life changing in power,
infallible in authority, and personal in application.
