It's always this hot in the summer in south Texas. Everything went as it usually does. Except I had less money this summer, so I tried tosave gas by driving with my windows down, instead of using the AC.
That worked out well on the highway, but I must admit, I started depending on Max AC at the start of August. I've lived here for over 30 years; you'd think I'd be used to it. I'm not. I hate summer and I love winter.
**edit: You did not ask if we watched the news. You did not ask if we had compassion for dying folks. You asked if the hot weather affected OUR lives and activities. I answered YOUR question. If you MEANT to ask something else, you should have worded your question differently.

Not at all. Summer is always hot. No big deal. The weather men seem to want to make it a big deal because their agenda is to prove global warming. They tell us the temp. of the ocean has made a big change. Did you know there has been a drastic change in the ocean compared to 400 years ago. Who in the
HELL was out in the ocean measuring the ocean 400 years ago and I want to see what kind of Gage they were using. Yes we mowed our lawn without fail on Thursday, unless it rained. The world is constantly changing and I'm sure glad of that. I wouldn't want to be hiding from the dinosaurs, would you?

Well, it has been really hot in Seattle this summer and I'm not so into the heat, but this doesn'tusually last so long. As long as it isn't 85+, I'm fine. When it was really hot, my husband & I just laid around our apartment with the fan on or went to parks & laid around in the shade. The other things we did were go to stores (where there was AC), or drove around in the car (AC). I think it made us really tired, even though we drank a lot of water. Thankfully, we both have similar views on the weather & what we like.

Strangely enough, here in New Mexico we actually had a rainy summer for once in a million years, so a good portion of it was more pleasantly cool then it usually is (and by cool I mean mid-eighties). However we've had a few 100+ days, but I've just sort of moseyed on and done what I needed to, because you never know if the heat is ever going to let up, and putting stuff off just stresses me out.

Well, living in Texas I am accustomed to it always being hot and humid. We have not mown our lawn since May, because we have had not significant rainfall. We stay inside, do our shopping early in the day, have to water trees and flowers almost everyday, and I have to freeze bowls of ice and put it in my dog's water because they are so hot! It is 100 degrees or more here everyday, and I hate it. I used to like hot weather because the little bit of cold weather we have here would make my arthritis worse, but now I would love to have some snow. It is just terrible.

Well, here in Texas it's always hot in the summer, so over 100 degree weather is nothing new here. I could imagine how much it really sucks if you weren't used to it.
Oh yeah - we have to water like crazy :-)

What excessively hot summer? Do you mean the one that we have EVERY year in California?
I just try to keep myself cool, trying to avoid going out during daylight hours.
A 100F degrees is nothing for someone who was born and raised in Mexicali where it gets to 125F.
