Giles Corey persecuted in the 1692 Witch hysteria in Salem, MA.
Why? I'm in the 11th generation of descent of him making him one of my direct grandfathers.

This is cheating of course, but my favourite witch is one of my own fictional characters. Professor Ragamuffin Delancey is a 12th century Welsh lesbian witch who, like Virginia Woolf's Orlando, simply stopped ageing, and went through history, pretty much getting in the way. Ultimately, she ends up proving to the Devil that he doesn't exist, and gets the girl.
Other than Ragamuffin, Willow's pretty cool in Buffy, and Kate West, who used to be the press officer at the Pagan Federation was always groovy - wanted to do a foundation course with her, but I think she closed down the course due to lack of time.
I've also met some truly uncool wiccans, but generally, unless they start taking themselves too seriously, witches are among the most sensible folk I know.

Sabrina. . . she is pretty hot - for a witch - though her Aunts weren't bad looking.
