I'm taking Anafranil, it's the only one that would work. We tried 8 different meds, and it works great. Recently we added some Topamax, and that helped more. But you have to remember everybodies different, and may respond differently to the meds. Mine was a really extreme case of OCD. The important thing is to find a Dr. who will work with you on the meds. Take your feedback and changing doses or combinations until you're feeling better. I've been through it all, so if you need somebody to talk to about any this stuff. Symptoms, meds, side effects, or just a friendly ear, send me a message, and I'll give you my email. Sincerely, Charley

It is best to see a psychiatrist and a psychotherapist. The doctor can prescribe the correct dosage level of the medication and the counselling can help in OCD.

Zoloft is often used. Try getting your doctor to consider Zoloft in combination with Dilantin. While Dilantin is traditionally used as an anti-seizure medication, there are a host of other uses that it is good for.

That depends on having a complete, definitive diagnosis and considering other medications the person is taking. No cookie cutter here...it depends on the individual.

I noticed that someone mentioned Risperdal. I would try something else if you can. I take that with Zoloft and have had side effects, end of menstruation, increased prolactin, and even developed breast milk. It can cause fertility problems...so be careful.
