Its real simple.
Imagine for the moment, that in canada for doing the same job you are doing right now you would be earning 50x as much. For doing a job like janitorial work you would still be earning 10x as much.
Now also imagine that in that same fantasy canada everyone drives luxury cars, lives in palatial housing estates, and have an amazing educational system for their children that is free.
You'd consider moving your family there for an even better life right?
That's basically the score of it - except in this case the fantasy is the US for mexican immigrants. Can't blame em. It makes perfect sense.
---------------------
Now as to the rest of your commentary, you can only complain about someone taking your jobs away if they actually take it away. The military has missed its monthly recruiting goals for several years now. So if they are signing up for our military they still haven't been taking ANY jobs away from US citizens in doing so. There are still plenty more spots STILL available...

Enlisting in the American armed forces is a legitimate way to become an American. It is legal and I for one respect it. I would not turn my back on an American soldier. It is the illegals that are not willing to give something for this country that i want out. ALL people from around the world have a chance at becoming a member of the American family. Some are just to lazy to go about it the right way. These soldiers might one day tell other illegals to either get out of America or enlist too. The thought of that happening just makes me smile so wide.

Yes! Illegals and anchor babies also cost taxpayers plenty in medical assistance, section 8 housing, food stamps, incarceration, WIC and educational expenses. They not only take many lower paying jobs that Americans would take in this economy, they take money out of this country and pump it back into Mexico. They also get away without paying taxes. It is time to stop this insanity! BTW, there is a difference in legal and illegal immigrants! I welcome all legal immigrants!

RIQUE - the fact that they are illegal doesn't mean that none of them could have been accepted legally had they applied, including for our armed forces.
Frankly, a lot of them were one step ahead of their own country's law and no country would want them. Others would have been welcomed had they done it properly and waited in line, respecting our limits.
However, those in Iraq have no need to be illegal. President Bush signed an order that those in combat service can become citizens on day one.
So this is not a relevant argument.

The jobs aren't ours. If an american citizen is willing to work minimum wage then they would have an advantage of getting a job over an alien. If the job is open, anyone has the right to it. Whoever the company hires is up to them.

The truth is the immigrants know how lazy Americans are and how Americans burn money. What they are doing is something crazy that Americans can't understand. They are working for money that they put towards something useful like feeding their families and help other relatives to live a better life instead of plastic surgery.

IF OUR GOVERNMENT IS ALLOWING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS TO JOIN THE ARMED SERVICES THEN SHAME ON THEM. AFTER ALL IF THE IMMIGRANTS ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO FIGHT FOR THE USA THEN ALLOW THEM TO BECOME LEGAL. HOWEVER, I MUST SAY THAT I AM AGAINST ILLEGALS COMING TO THE USA AND TAKING OUR JOBS AND I WILL NOT VOTE FOR ANY POLITICIAN THAT ALLOWS ILLEGALS TO TAKE AWAY JOBS FROM US. AS FOR THOSE JOBS THAT PEOPLE SAY AMERICANS DON'T WANT BECAUSE THEY ONLY PAY 10 OR 15 DOLLARS PER HOUR WELL I NEED ONE OF THOSE RIGHT NOW. I HAD A FACTORY JOB AND MAYTAG OUTSOURCED IT TO MEXICO AND NOW I MAKE $8.00 PER HOUR AND TRYING TO MAKE ENDS MEET.

Immigrants play only a small part in the problem.....tell U.S. companies to stop outsourcing the few jobs we have in the corporate sector so those that are citizens can keep their cushy office jobs while the immigrants continue to do back braking labor and get exploited.......look at all angles before you open your mouth......it's all in the name of the almighty dollar.

Immigrants start off at minimum wage jobs. Most Americans today do not want these jobs, usually only teenagers for part time work.

Anyone willing to fight for this country, obviously deserves citizenship.... that is not the issue. The issue is all the other ones coming here to exploit this country.
