Deja vu is a french term which translates as "already seen". It is mostly attributed to a feeling or sensation that one has already seen or experienced the actions taking place in the moment. Many times, these feeling are a product of dreams and daydreams, but scientists have not been able to invoke a feeling of deja vu onto a patient, therefore no concrete data has been produced.

I've wondered about this before too. I don't know for sure but if I were to take a guess I'd say that because we see an image milliseconds before it registers in our brain, we 'think' we've seen it before. And IF my idea is right, then in a way, we HAVE actually 'seen' it before, even if only for a millisecond.

Deja vu is a short circuit in the brain. It connects to a memory node in your brain so you think you remember it happening before, when it never really did happen before, but, to you, it seems like it's a memory.
