Look at how fast these questions are presented on this site. There is almost no chance of getting an educated and or sincere answer especially from a variety of people.
In addition, there are always the jerks who try being jerks by giving unhelpful smart remarks that they consider an answer.
Think about it. It is like video game to try to get to the next level.
If you really want to have legitimate answers, then use the net to research your question.
I joined this site a few days ago, and quickly realized how much a waste of time that it is.
I am now trying to make others aware of this also.

Well, i do see your point. I get annoyed at the people that answer questions and just try to be funny or rude. But I've got some helpful answers from sincere people that have helped me, and hopefully I've helped someone else.

From my experience, the way to get a decent answer to your question is to actually put some thought into your question.
If you post a question titled, "What can I do to help my sick dog?", and post nothing else in it, you might get some mean answers. But if you post that same question, and inside it you type, "Hi, I'd really appreciate it if someone could give me some advice. I have a really sick dog; she has not been acting normal lately and she refuses to eat. She has also thrown up multiple times in the last couple of days. What can I do to help her get better, and what can I do about the fact that she won't eat anything? Should we take her to the vet immediately or should we just care for her at home? Thank you for your input." -- That question, most likely, won't get any rude answers. See what I mean?
Another rule is that you can't insult or flame your "opponents," if you're posting a question that's slanted a certain way religiously or politically. It's no surprise that "HEY ATHEISTS!!! WHY HAVEN'T YOU ACCEPTED JESUS CHRIST YET?!?! AREN'T YOU AFRAID OF HELL??" will get more jerk responses than "Atheists: Why are you so skeptical of Christianity?"
Of course, there are a lot of people on here who will give you a mean reply no matter what (some great people too, but unfortunately some nasty ones), but as long as you try not to be aggressive or insulting, and put a little bit of time into your questions to make people know that you're serious about them and not joking around, you should have more success on here.

well you are entitled to your opinion, but what gives you the right to try and think for anyone else, or to cram your opinion down anyone elses throat?
you can research all you want on the web, but it would be impersonal... "answers" is more than research; and some questions can't be answered by a search engine, no matter how good it is.
i think that in life, people want (for the most part) to help eachother, and i think that most of the people on this site are trying to do just that.
of course, there are the smart-asses, who i basically ignore, because to do otherwise WOULD BE a waste of my time. they just obviously have no life and nothing better to do than harrass people they don't even know. (poor things)
but if you don't like it here, well then you have the option of not logging on, and not participating.
but you shouldn't call it a waste of our time~because if i felt that way, i wouldn't be on here everyday.
i don't do it for the points, (although that is a perk).
i do it in the hope that my answer might be the right answer, and that maybe i can help someone out. that's all.

If it's such a waste of time, why are you wasting your time on here asking these sorts of questions? If people come to the conclusion that this site is useless or a waste of space, they have the option of not visiting again, you are not bound to keep logging in and asking or answering questions.
Oh, and some of ask questions for people's opinions, not just to get educated answers - you are right, if you want that, go research it yourself!

If you don't like this site, then why did you even bother asking such a stupid question yourself. Go do something else constructive.
I have answered quite a few questions and got many points for doing so. If I can help someone along the way, then great. I do it cause I enjoy it and more than likey so many others do as well.

Hi JJ, I don't see this site as a waste of time...I enjoy this site and i try and help people with serious question and there is the ones that are just for fun...Thats what this site is all about...Besides that, i am disable and this site helps me to relax and have my quiet time for myself...If you don't like this site,you should move on to a different site...

no it is not. even if you do not get a good answer, at least it helps u to expand you're mind and try to answer people's questions as best as you can. i myself use this site to improve my english and made friends with people from all around the world. and sometimes many people have introduced me good links using which i could get to a good answer.

No its not a waste of time,if it was,why did u join it then?...the reason why you see stupid answers is cuz there are stupid questions here too but its all fun man!just enjoy on here when your bored,its not everytime that someone answers you stupidly or ask stupid questions,its half half,so yea....
