Muscle weighs more than fat. Simple as that. If you are slim yet the scale says you weight x amount and you think that is too much, remember that is about the ratio of muscle to fat--and the scale doesn't distinguish between that.
If you are concerned, go to your doctor. He/she can do a body fat test on you to get a true representation of how much body fat you really have--the BMI won't give you a true representation because it looks solely at weight in ratio to height. It doesn't take into consideration that you are muscular. Believe it or not, but people who are the same height and weight do not always have the same body fat ratio for the very reason that muscle weighs more. Your body composition will look different than someone who has high body fat.
Keep doing what you are doing. You are getting healthier by exercising. Make sure to eat healthy, too.
Good luck!

Wow, 12-14 miles per day, you must be very fit indeed. I wouldn't worry about what the scale says. You can check your body fat percentage instead, which will give you a better idea whether you need to lose weight or not. Like another poster said, worry about how your clothes fit, not what the scales say.
Take care : )

Muscle ways much more than fat, and your leg muscles are some of the largest in your body, so you may just be developing those muscles. You might also be carrying alot of water, you might want to weigh yourself with a scale that measures water percentage and see if it is in the normal range.

Simple: Muscle weighs way more than fat does, therefore the more muscular you are, the more you weigh. Don't pay attention to a scale, but instead, focus on how your clothes fit.
