One hot summer day I went for a 16k jog without bringing water along. After about ten kilometres I became so thirsty I was looking at the puddles on the side of the road from last nights rain. I thought then 'if I have enough faith and ask, God will give me water' Right away I thought "what a selfish request, it is so unnecessary, I'm not going to die." Less than a minute later a car pulled off the road and a total stranger climbed out and began to jog along side me and handed me some water. There is nothing too little to ask God, and there is nothing too big to ask the One who created everything we see.

well i don't think i've asked about the tv show that's what dvrs are for. So maybe that is God's answer to that even though it works the modern technology. I have asked for helping in finding lost things. And the bible says to pray without ceasing so why not ask for help with the small stuff. I pray at work for the day to go by fast. But i think it is up to God what he wants to answer yes or no to. I figure he probably weeds out the unimportant prayers the way we forget about the unimportant small talk we have with our coworkers or customers. I know when i was in school I would pray for good grades on tests. As long as there are tests there will be prayer in schools. One of my class mates asked me if that was wrong. I told her i didn't think it was wrong but at the same time i felt that we should have done our best to prepare ourselves for the test so the prayer for the good grade would just be added insurance. So pray for whatever you want God knows when to answer and when not to.

I forget the exact verse but ask the lord anything and everything. Pray incessantly. There are things that you can ask the lord but the lord is a lord of common sense too. For important decision it is always best to look to the Word of God for confirmation and from fellow believers and your pastor and an open door like things go smoothly for "my yoke and burden is light," says Jesus.

That's stupid. If you didn't make it home on time to watch your show, then that's your stupid fault, how could you blame anyone but your self.

The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by 'God' one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying...it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity.

I think you can ask God for all things, but don't you feel selfish asking for those petty things.

If you ask for such small things and the show does not come on time, does your faith suffer or do you assume that it was late because someone else prayed for it to be late so they could see it.

Maybe rethink what is important in your life and always pray.

He says he can do more than you can ask or think! But the thing is God don't Just answer any prayer, the key to getting his hand to move is PRAYER IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS WILL! That means to read the bible and find out what God wants to happened and then prayer thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven! Pray without ceasing!

I don't ask the lord for sheit. You know why? It doesn't exist. I achieve in life because I make it happen. I am not so pathetic and weak I need a boogeyman in the sky to help me. Try relying on yourself and making your own destiny instead of hoping some fictional creature does it for you.

I think God can weed through the small stuff. But people who pray for everything are sad. God gave us free will to make decisions, by praying for everything, one is in essence absolving themselves from the decision making and the consequences there of.

It's been my experience that God looks after me in the most mundane of ways. I wouldn't even mention some of the things that happen to me that I know aren't coincidence, but just God looking out for me, because no one would believe me.

God said in His word, "if you, being evil, give good gifts to your children, how much more will your father in heaven give you?". He is interested in every thing that we care about, because if you love His son, that's it...you are the apple of His eye forever.

I ask Him where stuff is all the time. lol. I'll just stand in the middle of my room, look up, and say "Lord, where are my black shoes?" and He'll give me this feeling to go look under my bed... and there they will be!!
