How can we put a face on Jesus?

His face is so popular even to non-christians...but how can we put a face on him...if there is no proof he even existed?

please give me evidence...and no I do not mean that sarcasticly

ok so lets say there is proof of his existence....but is there proof of how he looked?

(by the way... despite what john there says, (above) there is no external hard-evidence for jesus ... i'm not saying a guy named jesus didnt exist ... maybe he did .... i'm just saying 'good luck on proving it')

There is probably more proof Jesus existed (and did and said the things/words attributed to Him) than there is proof that Abraham Lincoln lived.

There is overwhelming proof Jesus is who He claimed to be ( He claimed to be God ) and there is overwhelming proof that the Bible is God's Word.

There is no other choice. If you have any serious grasp of the facts of history, you can't argue against this (not with a straight face, anyway).

For just a little bit of the mountains of overwhelming evidence, go get and read Lee Strobel's book, "The Case for Christ."

Lee Strobel was more or less like you a few years ago. He was an atheist and was also a prize-winning crime reporter for a big city daily newspaper (the Chicago Tribune).

After his wife became a Christian, he was challenged to check out the actual evidence to see if Christianity was true or not, and whether it could be confirmed by historical and archeological evidence. He found that the proof for Christianity being true and the Bible being God's Word is overwhelming. There isn't any doubt at all that it's true.

So he ended up giving up his atheism and becomming a Christian. He wrote the above mentioned book and has written 2 or three other books in the same vein since then.

Even secular non-christian anti-christian historians admit that He existed eventhough they spent their lives denying everything about His life and who He was.

Why is it that some people try to deny His existence as a man?!?!?

There are many people hell bent on disproving every aspect of the Christian faith but they cant just act like He wasnt alive.

Yeah I understand how people like to deny He was God, but acting like He wasnt even a man and wasnt born wont just make Him go away.

Ever hear of the Historical Jesus? Secularists say He has much to offer humanity.

Anyway Jesus was a man and was God and still is both. Why would you even bother asking for evidence if you are unwilling to consider the reality of Him existing as a man? Oh, I know...you just want everyone to know where you stand and you need attention. Well you got it. OK bye.

He was Jewish - so He probably looked like a Jew
He was from the middle east - He probably looked middle eastern
He was a carpenter - He proabably was muscular
They didnt have fast food - He was probably skinny
Most men in that tradition and area had beards - He probably had a beard
Blue eyes? - probably not, that was created by european artists
Caucasian? - nope, european artists (those are the oldest paintings that exist of Him)

Oh, He also wore a crown of thorns, had his side pierced by a spear, had his hands and feet nailed, and had his back whipped

so thats where we get some of the ideas of what he looked like
so allow me to apologize to you on behalf of all Christians that Jesus didnt have a digital camera and a myspace account

If you had no proof that jesus exist, why would you still believe in him? Try other religions and try finding proof if their god exists. Don't be christian Just because it's popular, It's like doing that style because it's in with the new.

No there no physical proof of what Jesus looked like, but I see him in the faces of the many people i know that love him with all their hearts and souls

Just because someone or something can be shown artistically, it doesn't necessarily mean that that person or thing ever existed.

In the bible it states it was a normal looking man. He would have been a average looking Jew the same as thousands of others in Jerusalem at the time
